Trusted Colorado Farrier Care

Colorado horses face a unique mix of challenges-rocky terrain, fluctuating seasons, frozen ground, high altitude, and demanding workloads. Our farrier services are designed to meet those conditions head-on, delivering dependable hoof care that supports balance, comfort, and long-term soundness.

We work with performance horses, ranch horses, trail companions, and therapeutic cases, adapting every trim and shoe to the individual horse- not a template.

Farrier Services

Hoof care is where craftsmanship meets biomechanics. As a professional Colorado farrier, we combine time-honored blacksmithing skill with a deep understanding of equine anatomy to ensure proper alignment, efficient movement, and healthy hoof development.

Each appointment includes a careful evaluation of the horse’s conformation, gait, workload, and environment to determine the most effective approach to care.

Balanced Barefoot Trim – $50

Regular trimming and balancing maintain proper hoof angles and weight distribution, reducing stress on joints, tendons, and ligaments. Balanced hooves are essential for soundness, injury prevention, and consistent performance—especially in Colorado’s varied footing.

Full Set of Shoes ( Including Trim ) – $210

We forge and fit horseshoes to protect the hoof, improve traction, and support optimal movement. Hot shoeing, cold shoeing, and custom shoe solutions are selected based on the horse’s needs, discipline, and terrain.

Half Set of Shoes ( Including Trim ) – $140

Every visit includes a detailed inspection of hoof quality, growth patterns, and overall soundness. Early detection of imbalance, disease, or lameness allows for proactive correction and long-term hoof health.

Shoes w/Pads $20

For horses experiencing lameness, injury, or developmental challenges, we provide specialized corrective and therapeutic shoeing. This work is often performed in collaboration with Colorado veterinarians to ensure a cohesive, horse-centered treatment plan.

Why Proper Hoof Care Matters

The hoof is the foundation of the entire horse. Poor balance or improper shoeing can lead to joint strain, soft tissue injury, and chronic lameness. Professional farrier care supports natural movement, improves comfort, and extends the working life of the horse.

Thoughtful hoof care isn’t cosmetic—it’s preventative medicine.

Farrier vs. Blacksmith: Understanding the Difference

A farrier is a specialized blacksmith whose focus is equine hoof care. While both trades involve metalwork, farriery requires advanced knowledge of horse anatomy, biomechanics, and hoof health in addition to forging skill.

Every farrier is trained in blacksmithing, but farriers go further—applying that craft directly to the soundness and well-being of the horse.
